There are many beautiful beaches to visit in Costa Rica, and Playas del Coco is no exception. This beach is the most visited and the most accessible beach in the Guanacaste province, and the horseshoe-shaped Coco Bay in between the hills and the cliffs is an awesome sight to behold.
Playas del Coco is more known as a place for active water sports than somewhere you can head off to relax. During the day, surfers stop over here before heading to more popular surf hotspots like Ollie’s Point or Witches Rock. This beach is more known though as a prime scuba diving spot, and a lot of diving tour companies have set up shop in the area. During the night, the action still continues in the many bars, clubs and casinos that surround the beach, particularly around the town center.
The hotels are quite affordable in Playas del Coco, and many tourists keep their base here when exploring the nearby areas. Many vacation rentals are available, and other options range from studio apartments, apart-hotels, and bed and breakfasts.
